After a 6 year and £ 30 million transformation that involved thousands of visitors and volunteers, St Fagans was awarded the Museum of the year 2019 prize by the Art Fund. It is Britain's most prestigious prize, awarded annually to a museum or gallery that best demonstrates imagination, innovation and excellence. From a shortlist of 5 contenders, St Fagans was declared the winner.
St Fagans was founded in 1948 and means to embody Welsh culture and identity. It is located near Cardiff on a 100 acre site with more than 40 buildings that allow visitors to walk through Welsh history, from prehistoric times to the present day. Three new galleries were built for collections of social history and archaeology: Wales Is..., Life Is... and Gweithdy.
We are proud to have been a partner in the project having provided the display cases.
