Bourse-Grand Place Metro Station

Wall showcase

The museum and collection

After an exhaustive three year renovation, the Bourse-Grand Place metro station was reopened in February 2019. In addition to the construction of an underground parking area for over 800 bicycles, an art foyer of 500 m² was added. Upon entering by the access point near the AB concert hall, pedestrians walk through the brand new QARTIER exhibition area. The concept of the project was to decentralize the art space. Curator Zinnema wanted to show passers-by the variety of what Brussels has to offer.

The assignment

As the art space is located in a metro station, specific requirements had to be met. We equipped the showcases with fine dust filters to protect the artworks on display, and we also provided anti-graffiti films. We also supplied a truss structure of 28m long and 8.50m wide, which was installed against the ceiling to mount lighting for the space and the artworks.
