The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture is a bold initiative to promote cultural development within the Kingdom. For one of its galleries, Meyvaert developed 28 unique cases; 20 curved ribbon wall cases, 3 freestanding tessellated cases, 2 freestanding curved cases and 3 wall cases.
The curved ribbon cases are wall cases set into curved Corian set works. The wall cases are opened with hinged doors. Against the curved wall cases, horizontal curved table cases are placed that are opened by gas struts. The lighting is performed by LED spots and LED bars. The tessellated cases are freestanding cases, opened by side out glasses on carts and rails set onto a tessellated Corian plinth. The freestanding curved cases are made from 2-axes curved low-reflective glass set onto a curved Corian plinth.
