Museum of the Great War

The museum and the collection

In November 2011, the Museum of the Great War was inaugurated in the presence of Nicolas Sarkozy, erstwhile president of the French Republic. The enticing and innovative scenography combines modern technologies such as interactive terminals and sound fragments to provide the visitor with an interactive and unforgettable experience. Highlights of the museum include the many aircraft and tanks on display, along with a recreation of a battlefield.

The assignment

For this project, Meyvaert supplied and installed large-sized glass for hyperrealistic showcases. We also provided all graphic elements. The scope of works also included the UV-bonding of large glass partitions, showcases in very large aluminium and glass structures and showcases in curved glass with bent metal profiles.
