In February 2024, we completed a specialized showcase project for the exhibition "Novac Dubrovačke Republike" (Coins of the Republic of Ragusa) in Dubrovnik, Croatia. An extensive numismatic collection, spanning from the 14th century to 1803, is now displayed in 15 wall-standing showcases throughout the protected historic building.
Working within the constraints of Dubrovnik’s historic center, Meyvaert engineered a precise logistics solution combining trucks, small vans, and wheeled pallets to navigate the narrow streets and doorways. The showcases were strategically sized to enable installation without compromising the building’s historic features.
The display solution features an innovative mounting system using dual acrylic sheets with precision cutouts, allowing optimal visibility of the 300 coins while ensuring their stability. The dark, minimalist design of the showcases emphasizes the collection’s progression from early copper coins to silver dinars, creating an elegant backdrop for these historical treasures.
Through close collaboration with the museum team over a nine-month period, our Meyvaert team successfully integrated all technical requirements, including lighting and security systems, while preserving the building’s historical integrity.
