The museum and the collection
The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is located on Crete. It is one of the greatest museums in Greece and the most important in the world for Minoan art. Its collections contain artefacts dating from all eras of Cretan history and prehistory. Much of the museum was closed for renovation in 2006, and reopened in May 2013.
The assignment
We supplied over 300 museum display cases, good for over 500 meters of display area spread across 23 galleries. We equipped all the cases with climate control and alarm sensors. Some of the cases were made earthquake proof.
