The museum and collection
Officially opened by her Royal Highness Princess Anne in 2017, the British Postal Museum and Archive features seven interactive exhibition spaces that cover five centuries of social and communications history.
Visitors are able to delve into diverse topics such as community, technology, war, politics and design, all through the museum’s collection of fascinating objects.
The assignment
To best present, preserve and protect these items, Meyvaert created 26 showcases that cover six different zones, including the ‘Post Office in Conflict’ and the ‘Revolutionizing Communication’ zones.
The museum needed 5 diferent case typs: cube cases, freestanding cases, demountable and modular cases, desktop cases and table cases that incorporate a moveable magnifying glass.
